As I think about what kind of Spring changes I am going to make to the boat and my gear I start to think about what 2009 has in store for me. With the new, draconian fluke regulations I have to plan my fluke fishing around the split season. On that note, I am not too disappointed by the size or bag limit (I never take more than 2 fish over 21" on one outing) but I am disaapointed that the season ends in August. Late August through early September is the best time to fluke. The water is warm and the bass are deep and feed mostly at night. Fluke are sometimes the only game in town for daytime fishermen.
